Vantablack vs Black 3.0 In 2016, Anish Kapoor, a British Indian sculptor, purchased exclusive artistic rights to use Vantablack, the blackest substance ever created, that absorbs 99.96% of light. In response, Stuart Semple, a British artist, created his own blacker black, Black 3.0, that anyone is allowed to use - "except Kapoor of course", initiating a fierce paint war. “I wanted to make a point about elitism and self-expression and the fact that everybody should be able to make art,” Semple said.
