Michael Kienzer, born on June 21, 1962, in Steyr, is an Austrian artist.
From 1977 to 1979, he studied sculpture under Josef Pillhofer at the Graz School of Applied Arts.
He then worked for the art and cultural center in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
From 1981 to 1985, he studied sculpture under Bruno Gironcoli at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
In 2005/06, he was a visiting professor of art and communicative practice at the Institute for Fine and Media Arts at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
In 2011, he was an artist-in-residence at the International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York.
He is a member of the Vienna Secession.
Kienzer lives and works in Vienna.
