MEISSEN WALL MIRROR. Manufactory: Meissen. Dating: 19th century / made circa 1870. Material: white porcelain , glossy finish. Technique: porcelain (modelled and fired) / multicolored painted. MEISSEN STUNNING WALL MIRROR. A PAIR OF SCULPTURED CHERUBS SITUATED AT MIRROR'S TOP AREA. The cherubs being nearly nude seize a garland of flowers which connects both figurines to each other. One of the cherubs holds a palm leaf, too. - The cherub's bodies are partially covered by drapery being blown by the wind / the cloth is laid around their hips. - The mirror's oval glass is framed by multicoloured decoration (= flowers' blossoms and round ornaments) as well as by wreath of leaves and flowers' blossoms, bound by a bow / mesh. The mirror has to be hung up at wall (a metal sling is attached to mirror's upper part) / its backside is protected by a platter covered with velvet / additionally, the mirror's backside is stabilised by a brass strutting. MARKS: THIS MEISSEN MIRROR IS MARKED BY BLUE MEISSEN SWORD MARK OF 19TH CENTURY (THE MEISSEN SIGN IS VISIBLE AT MIRROR'S TOP PART) | FIRST QUALITY.
