Necklace Art Deco Glass Micro Beaded Wiener Werkstaette Snischek or Likarz 1925
€3.300,00
ART DECO NECKLACE MADE BY WIENER WERKSTAETTE (WW) / MICRO BEADED. It consists of various multicolored micro glass pearls, shaded in moss green, white and red. The ends of necklace are decorated with balls made of bone to which pendants with tiny glass pearls are attached. - The Wiener Werkstaette (in English: Vienna Workshop), established in 1903 by Koloman Moser and Josef Hoffmann, was a production community of visual artists in Vienna, Austria bringing together architects, artists and designers working in ceramics, fashion, silver, furniture and the graphic arts. It is regarded as a pioneer of modern design, and its influence can be seen in later styles such as Bauhaus and Art Deco. - This finest necklace is attributed by art historians to: Max Snischek (1891 - 1958) = directed the fashion department of Wiener Werkstaette / Vienna Workshop as from the year 1922 or Maria Likarz (1893 - 1971) = female designer having been active on behalf of Wiener Werkstaette.
