THONET RAREST & MOST REMARKABLE PAIR OF ART NOUVEAU PLANT / FLOWER STANDS, MODEL NUMBER 9582 /
designed circa 1904 / made circa 1905 - 07.

REFURBISHED BY HAND.
We're offering here a most elegant pair of plant / flower stands which are manufactured in highest Thonet quality. Each of these furniture pieces consists of two pairs of wooden struttings connected to each other by thin brass rods / additionally, an elegant wooden platter attached to area below stabilizes the mentioned pairs of wooden struttings. Finally, there is a wooden rectangular holder for plants visible at top area - inside there is the original brass liner existing which protects the wooden parts from dripping water.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This type of plant stand had been part of furniture equipment of Meeting Rooms of Viennese 'Postsparkasse' built and designed
by Otto Wagner (the plant stand was published by the magazine 'Thonet Zentral Anzeiger' (number 17) of October 28th / 1905).
OTTO WAGNER (1841 - 1918):
He was a famous Austro-Hungarian architect and urban planner, known for his lasting impact on the appearance of his home town Vienna, to which he contributed many landmarks (WIKIPEDIA). His major works in Vienna are:
