The false eyelid
€11.000,00
Friedensreich Hundertwasser (Stowasser), born in 1928 in Vienna and died in 2000, was an Austrian artist, who developed his own personal style: Through his dedication to nature and everything organic his way of painting reduces landscape formations to abstract lines, drops, spirals and circles.
In this colored print he shows a spiral on a rectangular surface, using vivid colors. The round forms of the spiral in which's center a red contoured face appears, finds its counterweight in the sharp lines of the surface and the triangular green and orange points on the right side.
The title "the false eyelid" could refer to the torsion of the structure. By turning the print to the left side, the triangular points remind of lashes, the spiral of the iris and pupil, the yellow surface of the sclera and the isolated triangular form in the left corner of the caruncle.
