Beautiful and rare foldable writing desk or secretaire called the "Magic Box", designed by Swiss Mummenthaler and Meier. There are two models of this piece on the market, one with and one without retractable light - this is the most elaborate version that is the most sought after. The piece closes completely and can be key-locked to protect all your working information. Opened it has a large maple wood writing top, lit from above by a retractable built-in light operated by pulling a cord. The inside wiring has been renewed, the lights works perfectly. This piece is completely original and in very good condition. The key for the retractable drawer right underneath the top and the key to close the whole piece, are present. If already you come across this piece of furniture, there are often lacking many pieces in the interior; here the complete interior is there and 100% intact. Unlike almost always the case, all little shelves (also retractable), drawers, plateaus and compartments are still there - the interior is fully complete. There are too many to mention; even underneath the tabletop there's a lot of compartments and retractable open drawers. This is a stunningly master crafted piece of furniture and a true eye catcher in any interior.
