Stamped Louis Majorelle Art Deco Occasional Table
€4.300,00
A stamped Louis Majorelle (1859-1926) two-tier art deco circular mahogany occasional table with an inverted pyramid shaped central column resting on a square stepped base. This style was produced by Majorelle when he was realigning his design from the Art Nouveau style to that of the Art Deco after the first world war. Stamped underside “Majorelle Nancy”.
Though Majorelle was known primarily as a designer of the Art Nouveau style, due to a fire in his factory during the 1st world war in which a vast amount of his designs were destroyed he decided to change to the Art Deco style of which this piece is a perfect example of.
