Outstanding and rare original baccarat chandelier. The supporting structure is made of silver plated brass. The central rod is solid iron. The chandelier states no signing because at that time (1825) the Baccarat did not sign their productions. Replacing the wax candles, the first processing method in "electric" was performed in France with internal metal and ceramic lined with shirts in glossy white opal that are still on the chandelier. No. 15 lights. With Certificat d' Experitse. The chandelier being among the most precious, elaborate and the result of scrupulous work such as grinding and the choice of models with high artistic and symbolic value is part of a very limited series of specimens because they are very expensive. Its central structure is made up of elements designed and made in a maniacal way as the lower cup worked with as many as 3 different orders of grinding and threading with hexagonal bosses. Looking carefully at the chandelier we notice the enormous quantity of completely ground elements; the same hexagonal section arms with serrated edges at the grinding wheel are not as twisted as those made in later times, a clear example of chandeliers with twisted arms can be found inside the Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul built by the Sultan Abdul Mejid I between 1843 and 1856. The sealing inserts of the bells, the hanging prisms and the necklaces are not of an octagonal shape like those used for the following models with twisted arms but of round shape and the work is a diamond-shaped grinding wheel for the many facets made on one piece. Finally, the depth and gray transparency of the crystal makes this chandelier easy to place in a historical period of the early 19th century and both the quality of the crystal and the particular and unmistakable metal frame indicate us as a production glassware, born in the early 18th century, that of Baccarat together with Saint Louis. The productions until 1874, date of the split between Baccarat and Saint Louis, were not signed, only after the division everyone had the need to affix their signature on their products. Weight 70 kg. Hook testing 140 kg.
